Challenge
When CSS came to us, their website no longer matched the work they were known for. Built more than a decade ago, it had become difficult to navigate, visually outdated, and increasingly disconnected from their reputation. As a consultancy working on complex environmental and engineering projects, CSS needed a website that could communicate its expertise clearly while also supporting its future growth. Whether viewed by prospective clients, government stakeholders, or the next generation of engineers and environmental scientists, the site needed to present CSS as the thoughtful, capable, and forward-looking firm it had already become.

Approach
CSS already had the credibility, experience, and technical depth. The challenge was making those qualities visible online. Our approach focused on creating a website that felt as considered as the work behind it, one that could communicate complex services clearly, showcase decades of project experience, and present CSS as a firm prepared for its next chapter. Every decision, from content structure to visual design, was guided by a simple objective: make it easier for people to understand who CSS is, what they do, and why their work matters.
Building with Credibility
Rather than relying on marketing language, we built the site around the evidence already available. Project experience, technical expertise, long-standing client relationships, and industry knowledge became the foundation of the website. The goal was not to make CSS appear larger or louder, but to ensure the quality of their work was immediately visible.

Simplifying Complex Information
CSS offers a broad range of technical services, but displaying them should not come at the expense of clarity. We restructured the information architecture and content hierarchy so visitors could quickly understand the firm's capabilities while still accessing the detail they needed. The result is a website that serves both first-time visitors and industry professionals without overwhelming either audience.

A Visual Identity Worth the Firm
The previous website no longer reflected the standard of work CSS delivers. We introduced a cleaner visual language, refined typography, improved layouts, and a more deliberate use of imagery. The design was built to feel professional, confident, and enduring, giving the firm's expertise the presentation it deserved.

Showcasing Project Experience
Years of valuable project work were largely hidden within the previous site. We created a dedicated structure for projects and case studies, allowing CSS to demonstrate the scale, diversity, and impact of their work. This not only strengthened credibility with prospective clients but also provided future employees with a clearer understanding of the projects they could be involved in.
Result
Within months of launch, the impact was clear and measurable. Traffic increased significantly across the site, with the associated product management platform seeing around a 90% rise in visitors. This showed how the new website was actively driving people into deeper parts of the system. Applications from graduates and early-career professionals doubled, reflecting a stronger connection between CSS and the talent it wanted to attract. The site delivered on its goals faster than expected, and in doing so highlighted that a well-considered digital presence creates results that are both immediate and compounding over time.
